Prime Video, also marketed as Amazon Prime Video, is a streaming video service that will be releasing the television series The Wheel of Time.

On October 2, 2018, it was announced that The Wheel of Time television series was greenlit and would be released on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories.[1][2]

Quotes from the head of Amazon Studios and head of Amazon Originals, from The Hollywood Reporter:[2]

The Wheel of Time is endlessly fascinating and resonates hugely with fans as one of the best-selling global book franchises, and we were drawn to its timely narrative featuring powerful women at the core,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, speaking in London at the Amazon Prime Video Presents showcase. “We’re thrilled to extend our relationship with devotees who’ve found the book series transformative and welcome new ones by bringing it to life on Prime Video for viewers worldwide.”

Added Sharon Tal Yguado, head of event series for Amazon Originals: “Developing and producing Robert Jordan’s beloved 14-book series for TV is a big undertaking, and we don’t take it lightly. We believe that Rafe’s personal connection to the material and soulful writing will resonate with the book’s passionate fans.”

Prime Video is an American Internet video on demand service that is developed, owned, and operated by Amazon. It offers television shows and films for rent or purchase and Prime Video, a selection of Amazon Studios original content and licensed acquisitions included in the Amazon's Prime subscription. In the UK, US, Germany, Sweden, and Austria, access to Prime Video is also available through a video-only membership, which does not require a full Prime subscription. In France and Italy, Rent or Buy and Prime Video are not available on the Amazon website and Prime Video content is only accessible through a dedicated website. In some countries Prime Video additionally offers Amazon Channels, which allows viewers to subscribe to other suppliers' content, including HBO in the United States.
